Kevin Jennings and the GLSEN reading list

God is just. He has determined what behavior He will encourage and what behavior He will judge; what He considers sinful fruit and what He considers good fruit. Since He is just, each generation that has disobeyed Him, persisting in sin despite warnings, has been judged. Sin and its failure to repent has always, always, carried dire consequences. No nation was overlooked, and each was judged in its own time and for its own reasons. Amos is a good book to review God's judgments upon nations for certain sins, Micah and Zephaniah as well.

At some point God decides enough is enough, as He did in Genesis 18:20-21 -"And the LORD said, Because the cry of Sodom and Gomorrah is great, and because their sin is very grievous; I will go down now, and see whether they have done altogether according to the cry of it, which is come unto me; and if not, I will know." Sodom's sin reeked so bad, it reached the LORD in heaven. He described it to Abraham as "grievous". (Gen. 18:20). Jude tells us more about what this sin was and how grievously it angered God.

Jude 1:7-8 - "Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." The Greek words porneia, and porneuo are what you might deduce, "fornication." The words are used many times in the New Testament. However, the intensive of these words, ekporneuo, is used in Jude. The Greek Lexicon defines ekporneuō as 1. to go a whoring, "give one's self over to fornication." Not just fornication, but giving one's self over to it, meaning, it is all you do, all you think about, all that you are as a human being. Depraved and defiled, sexually filthy and reeking of filth. Speaking of ekporneuo...

Last May, Obama appointed Kevin Jennings the Assistant Deputy Secretary at the Department of Education for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools (OSDFS). Jennings is also the founder of Gay, Lesbian, and Straight Education Network (GLSEN).

Reservations about Jennings surfaced almost immediately. He is an activist homosexual who promotes the homosexual lifestyle and is determined to include this agenda into the school curricula. This news article discusses Jennings' homosexual agenda with regard to the schools: "In 1997, according to a transcript put together by Brian J. Burt, managing editor of the student-run Harvard Journal of Law and Public Policy, Jennings said he hoped that promoting homosexuality in schools would be considered fine in the future. ... "Being finished might someday mean that most straight people, when they would hear that someone was promoting homosexuality, would say 'Yeah, who cares?' because they wouldn't necessarily equate homosexuality with something bad that you would not want to promote."

Lately, more information is surfacing about Jennings and the depths of depravity to which he has descended, and how his depravity ties into his agenda for public schools. [WARNING, upcoming graphic content]. There is no other word for Jennings but deviant. Gateway Pundit has discovered just how deviant Jennings' agenda really is. When they discovered it, the folks at Gateway Pundit were "shocked ... flabbergasted ... rendered speechless."

GLSEN's mission is to promote tolerance of the gay, bisexual, and transgendered lifestyle, and to educate teachers, Administrators, and students as to inappropriate hate speech and bullying so that the public school environment can be peaceful for all, regardless of sexual lifestyle. To that end, GLSEN has created a recommended book list for children to read in classrooms, as part of changing the atmosphere of intolerance toward homosexuality, to tolerance. As Gateway Pundit discovered, these books are explicit, graphic, and frankly, sickening. They wrote, "Book after book after book contained stories and anecdotes that weren’t merely X-rated and pornographic, but which featured explicit descriptions of sex acts between pre-schoolers; stories that seemed to promote and recommend child-adult sexual relationships; stories of public masturbation, anal sex in restrooms, affairs between students and teachers, five-year-olds playing sex games, semen flying through the air."

All the books were added to Jennings' recommended reading list while he, the founder and director of GLSEN, was active in both roles. Between Jennings' quote far above saying his hope is that one day attitudes about promoting homosexuality in the classroom would be considered fine, and the books he deems as appropriate for children in classrooms to read, and Jennings' appointment to high places, it is clear we are a far fallen nation.

The scriptures are clear too. Nations who sin and refuse to repent are judged. All will be judged on That Day.

"But when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. "All the nations will be gathered before Him; and He will separate them from one another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats; and He will put the sheep on His right, and the goats on the left." Mt 25:31-33

America has for many years failed the biblical standard. We oppress the poor, divorce with impunity, murder the unborn, promote deviant lifestyles, live on greed and credit, embrace idols, abuse our children, repudiate God, and more. Kevin Jennings and his ilk are but one example of the lifestyles and attitudes that now permeate American culture from the lowest trenches to the highest echelons of power. America 'Likewise also these filthy dreamers defile the flesh, despise dominion, and speak evil of dignities." If Sodom was living in filth, despising dominion and spake evil of dignities, and was judged, is America doing the same less at risk for the same? No, let it not be so! God is just.

"Righteousness exalts a nation, But sin is a disgrace to any people." (Proverbs 14:3). Kevin Jennings's kind of ekporneuo is not only disgusting to all but is particularly filthy because it is aimed at children. It is a disgrace to any people. America is not exalted. God's justice at Sodom will be repeated on any nation that unrepentantly repeats those sins. God has been long-suffering. But behind long-suffering, judgment always comes.

  1. I just bought "One Second After" and I am getting ready to read it based on your comments. Have you read "Crazy Love" by Francis Chan? I highly recommend it and his podcasts!

  2. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did! I thought of it less as Christian fiction (which it isn't) but more as a realistic depiction how quickly society falls apart after such an event...and worse, what the Tribulation might be like! The main character works at a Catholic college and there's one sentence where he and the College President agree that God is so loving all people must go to heaven, ugh, which isn't the truth. But the factual and technical thread of the book was excellent.

I havent' read Crazy Love but I'll look it up!

  3. In just the small amount I had read, I could tell it was not a Christian book.

  4. Kim, is Francis Chan a preacher? What are his podcasts like? I'll take a listen this weekend over some tea, when I'm relaxed. I always love learning about another Christian to listen to.
